Having made the decision to buy a Ricoh GXR and the M module, the next thing was to locate one. As I work part-time at the Leica dealer Red Dot Cameras, my inclination was to go to another (Leica) dealer that also sells Ricoh - R G Lewis, but although Len had the body he had no M modules, and the next week only got two which were spoken for.
Last Friday, I went for a stroll down Tottenham Court road past another Ricoh dealer (no M-modules) popped in to Aperture for a brief chat and a look-see, and then paid a call on Len.
"Did you get my phone call?"
"I've an M module here for you - got two more and this is the last"
That did of course decide the issue - "Yes please"
So I now have a GXR, M lens module and EVF.
I'll post later about my views on the pluses and minuses, but the initial results are very promising.
