Long time no posting.

Yes I know it's been quite a while since I posted anything on the site. however we have been to Vietnam (my first visit) - Saigon and Hoi An with a lenghty day trip to Hue. Since we got back it's been a bit hectic catching up, to say nothing of culling through the 750 or so photos I shot with the X-2 and XE-1 while we were away.
I am now finding time to post a brief update on what's been happening in my world and to say that I'll be updating the website over the next week or two. I've also prepared another book of B&W images, this time of the Reunification Palace in Saigon which is now available on Blurb.

Capture One v7
07th January 2013 - 0 comments
It appears that Phase One, the producer of the RAW file processor Capture One, have beaten Adobe to it and added full processing for Fuji'a X-Trans sensor technology. Initial reports are very favourable in that the slight "smearing" that occurs in Lightroom is no longer present.
Looks like I am going to have to get a copy, as there is no word or rumour of Adobe doing likewise, at least in the immediate future.
Back Home

Got back from my travels to Thailand (Cha-Am) and Laos (Luang Prabang) yesterday (Sunday). I took the X2 of course and also the XE-1 with the 35/1.4 and 18-55/2.8-4.0. I also took the XE-1's M adapter with the old 50/1.5 Summarit. I only used this latter lens on one occasion.
Now I have around 700 photos to go through and process! This will take quite a time as you might guess.
So images will appear gradually as I work through them.
Messing around again.

Yes I'm being indecisive once more. I have decided to do a "The Best of..." selection for each year, limiting myself to a maximum of 24 images for each year. Now this means that the brief appearance of B&W and Colour sections in two Groups will have to go. However there may be .... let's say overspill .... so these could make a later re-appearance in one Group. Images might well appear here that are already in other portfolios. As ever, watch this space!
New look
26th November 2012 - 0 comments
I have finally go around to installing (yet another?) new look for the website.
I always felt that the site layout I was using did not cover a screen edge -to-edge, and also with the increasing use of 16:9 screens, a stretched layout was needed. Today I finally got around to it and here it is. I would welcome your comments!
Statistics - damned statistics!
19th November 2012 - 0 comments
I've been looking at the statistics for the website.
Photium provide quite a few useful stats. built in to their programme, but Google Analytics is amazing once you sign up to it.
First of all I would like to thank all those who have visted my website - over 200,000 of you paid a call - even a short visit is nice. And a special thanks to those that take the time and trouble to return to see what has happened since your last visit!

Here are few more stats. for you:
Most viewed Portfolios: Leica Akademie; Graffiti; Organs. This is a little strange to me as the latter two are for me sideline interests, but hey, if you like them, then I'll add some more.
Most viewed images so far: Merchant Taylor's Hall Organ (this in a City Livery Hall rarely open to the public); Her Highness The Rajmata Krishna Kumari; In & Out; Winchester's Geese.
Most visitors from: USA; UK.

Well done to the three worthy winners. Pete (who donated his prize to AICR), Carsten and Carl.
As I expected, I did not achieve a placing this year, but there's always next year and the weekend was very enjoyable, as ever.
My selection of potential submissions are now on the website.
My Avenon 21mm is for sale.
16th November 2012 - 0 comments
I have decided to sell my Avenon/Kobalux 21mm lens, as I have ceased to use the M8.2. I find this lens a little wide for me on a full-frame 35mm, and it does not fit the M-adapter on the Fuji, which is a shame, but that's life.

You can see it here:
http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=47_51&products_id=5665 and you can ask me more via this website.
It appears on the "Other Sales" page on this site.
It can be shipped almost anywhere worldwide.
